The balance of doing for others, while keeping yourself going is one that most will deal with their entire lives. But even being willing to ask the questions, to ponder the answers, shows movement toward more maturity.

Too many people now are selfish. They don’t know the value of the others. It is good to be open and accept how to be a channel of happiness for others.

You get such a buzz when you are helping others. Does a lot to keep you feeling young too.

I have always naturally helped people. Its part of who I am! I guess it could be because of my upbringing. Not everyone is given the same morals in life and children are so impressionable! This is where we fail! I live by the moto treat people the way you would want to be treated. Great post thanks for sharing!

I do agree with all fellows here. It ‘s great to have feelings and point of view vis-a-vis with others. So we can respect others without losing our self-esteem. This is a great reminder for me too..

It is always good to remind ourselves to not be selfish. This world that we live in truly needs that reminder.

That is really a tough and deep question. I agree with Jenny, we have the same upbringing, and in our culture you live to serve and love your family. We are hardly taught to respect people especially elders and help someone in need. That is one of so many thing that I am proud to be who and what I am.

I think many people, as they age, hold on to life tighter and tighter! It’s only natural. I hope when the time comes I can look back and know I’ve helped others know I’ve made some difference. Even if it’s a dribble and not a splash! I think that might give me some sense that I have fulfilled a destiny and maybe help me to let go.

Thoughtful questions, and we should always make time for ourselves but for other people.
